I Recently tried my hand at Stand-up Comedy
I've always enjoyed making people laugh
Ever since I was young I liked the feeling of making people laugh.
So I jumped at the chance to attend a Stand-up Comedy workshop
I thought it would help me in my writing. People may be funny but the art of comedy writing is a learned skill.
Where has this led?
I found I have a nascent talent for stand-up and it's something I'd like to pursue doing more of. It checks many boxes for me--writing, performing, live performance--and I'm looking to perform more stand-up in the future.
What next?
Studying standup has led me to consider being open to acting opportunities. My performing resume so far includes small roles in independent films, working with SAK Comedy Theater as a performer in their house band, doing character VO for audio projects my production company produces, and understanding the production process from working for over 20 years in my own production company. I'd like to expand these experiences for opportunities as a comic/actor and welcome the chance to do so. So... come on Universe, why not?
